Spruce up your home this spring with a new house sign in Welsh Hardwood. All our hardwoods are envorinmentally friendly & sourced locally and are harvested under the the stewardship of Coed Cymru (a partly funded governmental body dedicated to the well being of the woodlands of rural Wales). As the maximum width of our Wooden House Signs are around 8", we are able to obtain our logs from contractors who specialise in "thinning" various woodlands within a 25 mile radius. The thinning process has been going on for hundreds of years to ensure the healthy growth of our natural species of broad leaved hardwoods such as beech, oak, birch, sycamore and ash. We cut our own logs into slices and naturally dry them before going on to plane and sand both sides to a high standard finish. Each slice is then dipped in several coats of marine varnish with a hand sanding process between coats.The end result is a superb glass weatherproof finish of ready use stock of House Plaques in several sizes We then call upon the blank stock to complete orders. Each order is individually handled and the lettering and decorative motifs are applied to the surface and the whole plaque is then dipped once again in a final coat of marine varnish before despatch. We have a wide range of decorative motifs available and can usually accommodate any unusual or quirky request to make your House Sign special..
